If you count family I have been a caregiver for over 10 years. Most of my  care giving experience took place when I was between the ages of 17- 24, I am now 29.

Currently I am not taking care of any children.  In the past I typically took care of 1-3 kids at a time.  I have worked newborns - middle school age kids (I am a school teacher but taking a break from the classroom); this would we the age range I work with.  

When I was in college I took a care of a multiple handicap 9 year-old girl, which was a challenge in the beginning but loved working with her by the time I left the area.  Last year, I babysat of three kids 7, 10, 13 once week.  In my time with them I helped with homework completion, played board/ card game, and read bedtime stories.

I don't have any pets yet, but most of the families that I have worked with had a dog (golden retrievers mostly).

At this time I do not have kids of my own, but every child I work with I say and do things the way I envision raising my future children.  I encourage manners, physical fitness, continual education (life, social and content) and stepping outside of your comfort zone.

I have passed a MD background check which includes finger printing.  I can furnish a copy at your request.
