I am a good nanny because I have good character and hold to my values. I love kids and am always working hard but still having fun. I am trustworthy as well as responsible and I have the capability to incorporate educational activities into daily leisure time. I will also be a good role model because I love kids. I have a genuine desire to see each child succeed and am willing to invest my time and effort into supporting them. I am fun-loving, creative, and am always up for outdoor activities!
As a senior in high school, I had the opportunity to coach two girls soccer teams: one ages 5 to 6 and the other ages 7 to 8. I worked with them individually and as a team on developing their skills and understanding the importance of teamwork and having fun!
Here's a little bit about my past experience teaching and nannying children:
The summer after my senior year, I nannied for two families: one with three children ages 4, 7, and 10 and the second family with two children ages 8 and 12. We did fun outdoors activities such as playing sports, going to the pool, and playing games at the park.
During my freshman year of college I volunteered for four hours a week at a preschool, playing games and reading with children.
The summer after my freshman year of college, I worked for a program called Totus Tuus, a Catechetical program in Colorado that involved teaching salvation history to elementary school aged children and working with high school students at night. Myself and my three other teammates became role models for the children we encountered throughout the summer.
During my sophomore year at Boston College, I volunteered with an AmeriCorps program called Jumpstart. Twice a week my 6 teammates and I would go into an inner city preschool classroom and work with a small group of partner children on recognizing the letters in their names and reading story books. We would then commence group activities through engaging in songs and games while also incorporating educational activities into daily playtime. We worked closely with each child, ensuring they received the care and attention they deserve.
