Hello,

My name is Kesiah Kolbow and I am a highly qualified nanny candidate.

For the last 5 years, I have worked with an organization called Youth Frontiers.  As a Retreat Director at Youth Frontiers,  I facilitate character development retreats for kids. I love my work because I have the opportunity to play, sing, dance and be creative while spreading positive messages to kids about the values of kindness, courage and respect. I have a similar schedule to a teacher, which leaves my summer months open for pursuing other opportunities. For the last few summers, I have done part time child care. The families that I have worked with have given me very positive feedback on my care.

Before my work at Youth Frontiers, I attended the University of St. Thomas for college where I graduated with honors in Social Work. As a Social Work major, I learned many skills that have given me the tools necessary to be a highly motivated and effective child care provider.

Asside from having a strong educational and professional background working with kids, I am also part of a large family. As the middle child of 10 (my parents adoped 7 and have 3 biological children), I had the chance to learn about family dynamics and get A LOT of babysitting, diaper changing, bottle feeding and playtime in with my siblings! I have now extended that knowledge to my 12 neices and nephews.

In closing, I really enjoy working with kids. I am full of energy, I love being outdoors and being active. I like to read and have conversations, go on adventures and learn about the world that we live in. Spending time with kids is a great way as an adult to remember the value of playing as an art.  I understand the importance of maintaining a positive and nurturing environment for kids to thrive in. I hope I can use my skills to benefit a family this summer and in return, have the chance to continue to grow as a professional and have a fun and active summer.
