Childcare is my passion. Maybe I'm crazy, but I wouldn't trade it for the world - the smiles; the hugs; the blueberry-stained t-shirts and rice all over the floor (because you can always clean up a mess afterwards, but they won't always be so enthralled by the simple game of scooping up rice with a spoon as a shovel); the tears and tantrums that come as part of the territory; watching the 4-year-old that I taught to write his letters use his new skills to write my name on a piece of paper and give it to me as a gift or watching an infant discover life's wonders for the first time. It is the most challenging and most rewarding job I've ever had.

I have been employed full time with a wonderful family since August but sadly they will be putting their son in daycare at the end of January for financial reasons. I would love to find another full time position. I'm halfway through my degree (planning on continuing it with a major in Neuroscience) & I plan to go into pediatrics.

I'm fluent in Spanish and Portuguese for those times when your kid has trouble figuring out when to use "ser" or "estar" on their homework, I always fall on the side of imaginative playtime when it comes to the no-TV debate, & I love cooking up interesting, healthy meals for kids.

We are expecting our own first child in August so please take that into consideration when considering me for your position! I would love to find a family that would be open to a longer-term arrangement where I could come back after a few weeks of maternity leave.
