Loryn R. Nanny in Osseo, MN 55311. Looking for work as a live out nanny.

I am certified by the American Red Cross in First Aid as well as in Adult & Pediatric CPR/AED. I am a member of the International Nanny Association (INA). I have also taken and passed the INA Nanny Basic Skills Exam, and I am studying to take the INA Nanny Credential Exam. I have been loving and caring for children all my life. I have two brothers that I helped out with often (5 & 9 years younger than me), and I have been babysitting since age 11. I have had many babysitting jobs, two full-time nanny jobs, volunteered with children's ministry in church, and volunteered as a day camp counselor. I have also taken classes such as child psychology and the effects of violence on children. 

I don't want to just be in a field of work simply providing a service. I want to be in the business of building and changing lives. Being a nanny means being a huge part of a child's life and helping with their development. It means that I have the potential to mean something to someone and to have a good effect on them. It means I have someone that I can love and care for and know that it means something real and lasting. It means that I can look forward to waking up for work in the morning to greet an adorable face that needs love and acceptance and guidance and I get to have a part in it.

Children are needing solid role models more than ever these days, and I always try to pass on a healthy self-image. I will absolutely, under no circumstances, ever agree to or tolerate any corporal punishment of children. I will also not agree to or tolerate yelling at children. I will only raise my voice in a firm manner slightly on occasion when the circumstances call for it. I believe in age-appropriate communication, re-directing, counting to three, and time-outs (usually in that order), but I will mostly adhere to the discipline standards set by you as the parents (with the exceptions of corporal punishment and yelling).

I never hold back on hugs or snuggles, and I especially enjoy singing, dancing, and reading. I WILL NOT sit your kids in front of the TV all the time or keep them inside all day. I love taking kids out for fun days because there is plenty for them to do for free or at a low cost. Even just going to a different park to play is a fun time! During sleepy days or bad weather, I would encourage games, coloring, crafts, reading, music/dancing, etc. I limit TV, movies, and video games, but I do allow them more when the child is sick. 

I am also a lover of good nutrition. I put unhealthy snacks/treats out of reach, and I set designated times for allowing them. I would even be willing to help you with grocery shopping and in guiding your children to make healthy choices, as they usually are more receptive to healthy foods when they are involved in the choice process. 

I enjoy the results of cleaning, and I never mind doing light housework. I would also not mind doing heavy housework for additional pay, if needed. Ultimately, being a nanny is about being part of a family!

NOTE ABOUT PETS: No cats, please!

I am a Christian, so I would enjoy working with a Christian family, but that is certainly not a necessity for me. I am a person who highly values others, and I treat them with respect and integrity. This absolutely must be a shared factor among any family that I work with, regardless of beliefs :)
