A student travel organization offers sustainable service learning programs for students of all ages in Peru. Our programs provide hands on learning opportunities for students with a focus on developing new skills in various areas of sustainability such as wind and solar energy, agriculture, composting bathrooms and education. Our programs encourage and promote global citizenship and hope to inspire students to become social entrepreneurs in the future.

- Responsible for developing partnerships with US and Peruvian universities, governmental agencies and NGOs .

- Currently developing programs for US high school teachers from various subject areas to apply concepts/ ideas of social entrepreneurship and sustainable design both in and out of the classroom, implementation in our programs in Peru.

Flourish Peru: Planting Seedlings for the Future: Ventanilla, Peru                                                      Jun ’06 –Jun ‘07

Founder

Created and financed a preparatory school program with two teachers and two social workers in Ventanilla, Peru. This program reintegrated twenty children, ages 6-17, into the Peruvian mainstream educational system. The children were provided with daily instruction in math, reading and writing, daily meals, school supplies, uniforms, and health insurance. The families of the children received weekly food staples and attended weekly workshops on nutrition, parenting, hygiene, sexual health, and citizen rights as part of the program.

Opened four preparatory schools in shantytowns in Lima which enrolled 100 children. Developed a budget for the program in Lima, organized international volunteers, hired faculty and raised $20,000 to help fund program.
