In determining my professional qualifications for this position, I have years of experience working with children. After competitively figure skating for 10 years, I worked for a Special Olympics Program, instructing children with special needs the basic skills of figure skating. This inspired me to continue instructing children with a wide range of abilities and I knew that I could connect to my students. I then obtained my Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor certification which enabled me to teach children and adults basic aquatic skills. After, I qualified for a job position to be a coordinator/director for a children’s program in the summer at a local country club. As a director, I prepare and organize children’s activities on weekends. During fall, I currently am substitute teacher for the Cleveland Municipal School District.
