Hi, thank you for looking at my profile.
My name is Amanda, and I am a nursing/health education student who nannies part-time (1 yo girl) and is available for evening/weekend/as-needed weekday help. I will be available for regular, weekday nannying in June, 2014.
I have been nannying for years, am a member of the International Nanny Association, and am CPR/first aid certified. I have an associates degree in science, and I'm a part-time senior in Kent State's baccalaureate nursing program. I will graduate in Spring 2014 with a double major of Nursing and Public Health and plan to nanny until I have my own children (vs. working FT elsewhere)
A little about me... I've been with children ever since I was age 11 or 12. I took Akron Children Hospital's "Safe Sitter" program and started watching neighborhood kids. Over the years, I helped raise two dramatic, adorable little boys all the way to preschool and cared for the sweetest baby girl until she was old enough to go to preschool. I've been with many other families and have many references. I have experience with multiple children and premature infants and even live-in nannying. Most of my experience is with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
I enjoy starting with families while the children are little so I can watch them grow, but I also love joining established, loving families. I love to create and play with my children, and reading is a must. I love spending days at home as well as coordinating fun outings like story time at the library, trips to the zoo or pumpkin patch, and Kindermusik. I like to engage the kids in all kinds of age-appropriate experiences. I love hands-on play and fun physical activities as well as crafts and "still" activities. I will not sit your child/ren in front of the television all day!
Just for the record, my favorite books are Dr. Seuss, Pinkalicious, and Fancy Nancy. :)
Hours/days may vary depending on my semester's schedule but I am dedicated and will try to work with you, especially in unique situations. I can provide reliable, safe transportation and am experienced in elementary school tutoring as well. I love to nanny and babysit or just come have fun while mom/dad get a break. (Yes Mom and Dad, you do need a night out!) I look forward to meeting your family!
Nannying children ages 0-5, babysitting experience with children 0-12, live in experience
