I have been a babysitter for seven years and have been a regular sitter for over 45 local families. I have always loved working children and am currently studying to be a pediatric nurse. Through my many years in the field of childcare I have worked with children of all ages. I spent last summer volunteering at Phoenixville Hospital in Maternity and became an expert in new-born needs, including those who many have had a brief stay in the NICU.

Through volunteering at the local elementary school, I started getting babysitting jobs. In one summer I went from only having a handful of families to working for over 20! Word of mouth had my name spreading like wildfire! I did not have a free weekend for months! Especially during the holiday season I get up to 5 families needing me in one night, so I came up with the idea to have themed babysitting parties at my house! Parents drop off the kids for arts and crafts, games and movies! Moms and Dads could finish all their shopping AND wrapping while their children played with friends!

When being a nanny, I love doing arts and crafts and taking the kids out during the day! Depending on the age, I love taking kids to the park, pool and to the library! I am big on playing outside! Riding bikes, going on walks or even just drawing with chalk… anything that gets the imagination working and some exercise at the same time!

Through my many years, I have seen and worked with children with many different types of disabilities. I have been a nanny for a year for an 11 year old girl with diabetes. A huge part of my job was making sure she checked her sugar levels, and corrected with insulin. I have also sat for children with severe allergies and celiac disease. I am comfortable managing these conditions as well as administering an Epipen if necessary.

I graduated from Perkiomen Valley High School (PV) in June of 2011. Throughout high school, I had some amazing opportunities for internships and volunteering. While in ninth grade, I earned my black-belt in karate after nine years of training! That following summer I received an internship in Congressman Jim Gerlach’s office after lobbying a bill in Congress the February prior. During my junior, I started a charity (I will go into details later) and became heavily involved in volunteer work.  Finally, during my senior year, I was a student teacher in a fifth grade classroom at Skippack Elementary! I absolutely LOVED the children I taught, and it will forever be some of my favorite memories!

As a stated previously, I started my charity in high school. It started as a simple project and turned into so much more. It’s a Joint Effort is a charity that donates money to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Rheumatology Fellowship Program! For those who are not familiar, the Rheumatology Department treats children with arthritis and other rheumatic diseases such as lupus. Since starting in 2010, It’s a Joint Effort had donated over $10,000 to CHOP!! (<WEBSITE>

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my bio! I am looking forward to hearing from you in the future!
