Hello families!  Thank you so much for taking the time to learn a little bit more about me! 

My name is Jordan: I am an energetic, trustworthy, hard-working 26 year old female.  I have a BS in Earlychildhood Education and over ten years of experience working with and caring for young children.  My experience extends from the informal at-home setting (babysitting and nannying), to the more formal learning environment (preschool teacher's assistant; substitute teacher; preschool floater; assistant teacher- infant; lead teacher- 2 year olds). 

My philosophy for teaching and caring for young children is rooted in the belief that the most effective form of education is experience; children learn best by seeing, hearing, and doing.  Young children need to be provided daily opportunities for learning, growth and exploration.  'Teachable moments' present themselves within each new day, in every new experience!  I like to keep my little friends as busy as possible.  For example, a typical daily routine would include: reading, fine motor play, music/dancing, gross motor play, art, dramatic/pretend play, and an outing (to the park, children's museum, etc.).  When each activity is geared towards stimulating the healthy physical, social, emotional and cognitive development of the child, basic preschool and life skills can be integrated into every new experience!

Now that you know a bit more about my professional background, I'd like to provide you with some insight into my personal life.  To say that i am fortunate would be an understatement.  I have been so very blessed with both family and friends who love, support, and uplift me on a daily basis.  I come from a large family- two older brothers and two younger step sister- all very close in age.  My siblings are some of my closest friends and my father is my rock.  My mother passed away when I was 13.  Her life and death have had a profound impact on influencing my outlook, beliefs, and passion for life.  My family, along with a close-knit group of fabulous friends, help to guide me through this crazy life!

When I'm not spending time with friends and family or working, I enjoy practicing yoga and running.  I also love to travel, read, watch movies, and collect recipes that I'll some day get around to cooking!!

I recognize the importance of consistancy and stability in a child's life, and I very much value the bonds and relationships that form with the children and families that I work for.  That said, I am willing and able to commit to one year of employment.  

It is my ultimate goal to provide your child a safe and nurturing environment to learn and grow!  I look forward to meeting you!
