I have loved animals all my life! I grew up in Florida where my parents had a lovely aviary! From the time I was 11 years old, I was hand feeding, weaning, training, and grooming birds of all sizes, but mostly small to medium parrots.
When I was 15, my passion for dogs became a serious pursuit! By the time I was 18 I had read dozens and dozens of books and was ready to begin my education! I was fortunate enough to work with an amazing positive reinforcement teacher for a year before she stepped down due to health reasons. I continued my pursuit of knowledge and training. When I was 24, I finally struck off on my own! I have been a professional obedience instructor since then. I had a German Shepherd until he passed from health problems. Now I have a crazy standard poodle who is just as smart but must have come from a different planet!
