I have over 20 years of experience working with dogs, cats, birds (big & small), guinea pigs, hamsters and rabbits from being a pet owner. I am experienced with dogs of different sizes, breeds, ages and tempermants. I believe in treating other's pets as if they were my own and love taking care of my own pet's as well as other people's pets. I have pet sat for friends and family in addition to caring for my own pets. I have experience with cats as well as birds (currently have a cockatiel and a parrot) and also small animals. I am comfortable with grooming animals, feeding them, walking them. playing with them as well as simply giving them plenty of attention.
I currently volunteer at an animal clinic helping out once a week. I am responsible and compassionate with all animals. I am willing to travel up to 25 miles to care for someone's pets and will follow directions exactly as the owner tells me. I have had several client's from sittercity and hope to find more people who want a responsible pet caretaker that trully cares about animals.
I have worked with animals with special needs as well. I have been certified in dog & cat CPR and First Aid. I have administered medication and am comfortable working with older animals.
I have done overnight visits and will travel more than 25 miles for jobs that require me to stay in the home. I can do things like collect mail, turn on lights at night and water plants if you will be away a long time.

She showed a great interest in not only taking care of the cats, but she also made an effort to get to know each of their personalities. We posted the job opening very last minute and during a holiday weekend, but she still responded and came over that night to meet everyone. We felt extremely comfortable and relieved knowing that Andrea would be checking up on our "kids" while we were away. Andrea did an amazing job taking care of our two dogs and cat for a week. We have one very big dog and the other has some dog aggression issues and Andrea handled them both with ease. Our pets were all very relaxed with her and I think they knew right away that she was an animal person. She gave them so much attention that I think they were disappointed when we returned from our trip :) I can honestly say that this is the first time we've had a sitter that I had absolutely no stress/anxiety about taking care of our pets. Andrea stayed in our home for 8 days with our two cocker spaniels. When we arrived home, our dogs were happy to see us but were obviously very comfortable and happy with Andrea. In addition, the house was well cared for. Andrea loves animals and it is obvious. I would recommend her to any one. We have already set up a second date! - Mary Ellen P.

Andrea did a wonderful job caring for our cat Murphy. She was very attentive and helpful, and even sent me daily email updates on how he was doing since we were overseas. She asked lots of great questions, like if we had an emergency vet, and other people to contact in case of an emergency, and left a record of when she gave him his medicine and a letter letting us know how he did overall. I would highly recommend her to anyone needing a pet sitter, you will have peace of mind and your pet will be much happier! Murphy clearly missed us, but he didn't seem starved for attention or even stressed out at ALL when we got home. Thanks Andrea! - Angela D.
