Vikki stayed at my house for two weeks. She took care of my house and two cats. Everything was perfect when I got home and my cats were much happier than they are when I just have someone come in and feed them. - Cindy R.

When my family returned home from vacation, we opened the front door and we immediately smelled the odor. I went to the basement and my initial impression was confirmed: One or both of our dogs for whom Vicki was sitting had had diarrhea - and not today. There were about a dozen piles in the basement surrounding the food bowls, where our dogs eat. The bowls were full of dry dog kibble. We had told Vicki when we did a walk through and on the list provided with her payment, to feed the dogs one cup of food with water twice a day. When we arrived home, we were initially concerned for their health as the older one was distancing himself from us and laying down in a separate room. We were relieved to discover an empty container of strange dog food under the couch as we realized the diarrhea was likely due to a change in their diet. We left plenty of food behind so we're not sure why she purchased additional food and changed their diet as anyone with experience knows what a sudden diet change does to a dog. When I finished with my first round of scrubbing in the basement, I went upstairs to check on the cats. The litter box had not been cleaned in at least three days. That is not to say that Vicki and her daughter did not stay at the house, because we found their clothing, workout equipment, phone charger, and other personal items all over the house. I called Vicki the evening of my return and then the next day asking her to call me back to return my key and to give her what she left behind. I received no response. Last night, three days after my return, my husband texted her asking that she call me in the morning to arrange to return our key and take back her personal belongings. She texted back right away (from the moment our vacation began she only responded to us with texts even when we specifically asked her to call us back.) She responded that a) she did not receive my messages and b) that the key was under the metal flower pot on my front porch and that she guessed we hadn't received her message either. We feel betrayed and disappointed with the way Vicki treated us and our animals. Part of caring for animals is cleaning up after them and informing us if there is anything wrong. - Hs L.
