...The number of jobs posted by parents has remained steady at about 8,400 a month at Chicago-based Sittercity.com, said CEO and founder, Genevieve Thiers, because the greater number of moms taking part-time jobs has compensated for fewer nights out. But the number of 18- and 19-year-old sitters looking for work through the site has grown by 560 percent since a year ago, she said.
Meanwhile, Thiers said, the average age of Sittercity.com sitters has increased in eight years from 19 to 28. "So many college graduates are not getting jobs in their fields," she said.
