Sittercity.com Named as One of the Top Places for Chicago Gen Yers to Work
CHICAGO, October 26, 2009 – Sittercity.com, the nation’s largest and most trusted online source for babysitters, nannies, pet care, senior care, home care and tutoring, was just named one of the Top 50 Generation Y Employer Programs in Chicago. The study was conducted by Brill Street, an organization that matches candidates with employers.
Sittercity.com ranked number 34 based on specific criteria such as compensation, benefits, perks, corporate responsibility, advancement potential, training opportunities and the nature of the day-to-day work. Chicago employers with at least 10 percent of their workforce comprised of Gen Y (employees aged 28 years old or younger) were eligible to nominate their organization for the distinction through a detailed survey assessing their workplace, grounded by exhaustive research analyzing what Gen Yers value in their employers. Finalists scoring highly were selected for on-site interviews to discover firsthand what makes their workplaces unique.
“We are proud to be recognized as one of the best places in Chicago for Gen Yers to work,” said Genevieve Thiers, founder and CEO of Sittercity.com. “As an innovative, Web-based company, it’s important that we attract the very best talent the workforce has to offer so that Sittercity.com continues to offer our clients the best service possible.”
Sittercity.com and its founder, Genevieve Thiers, have secured 14 national and international accolades including being included in Inc Magazine’s Top 500 Fastest Growing Private Companies for the second consecutive year, Better Business Bureau Complaint-Free Awards, Forbes Junior Power League, Crain’s Chicago Business 40 Under 40, Time magazine’s 50 Coolest Web sites and SBA Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
