Genevieve Thiers Talks about How to Become the Leading Expert in Your IndustryCHICAGO, October 21, 2009 --- Genevieve Thiers, who founded Sittercity.com back in 2001, will counsel marketing professionals who target moms on what steps they should take to become the leading expert in their industry at the Marketing 2 Mom’s Conference in Chicago on October 21st and 22nd. Thiers, a babysitter who had logged in more than 2,500 child care jobs, is currently the leading expert in the online caregiving industry. This babysitter-turned-entrepreneur has also recently published her first book, “Love at First Sit: A Parent’s Guide to Finding and Keeping the Perfect Babysitter,” in 2006. She currently serves as the iVillage Babysitting Expert and frequently appears in the media regarding child care stories.
Thiers has been repeatedly recognized for her innovative vision and unique skills, securing 14 national and international awards on behalf of herself and the company. In 2007, Thiers was listed on Forbes Junior Power League and in Crain’s Chicago Business "40 Under 40.” Prior to that, she was recognized in a ceremony by President Bush at the White House as the Small Business Administration Young Entrepreneur of the Year for 2006 and also received the Women’s Business Development Center Rising Star Award for 2005.
