SpeedSitting Comes to Philadelphia - Again!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SpeedSitting: The 5-Minute Hunt for the Perfect Babysitter
| WHAT: | Modeled after “speed dating,” SpeedSitting™ lets parents and babysitters connect with each other in a short amount of time. Armed with contact information and references, pre-screened babysitters from Sittercity.com, the country’s largest online parent-babysitter matching service, take their seats at a row of tables with parents sitting across from them. A bell rings and introductions begin. Five minutes later, it rings again and parents rotate one seat to the right to begin another conversation. Parents and sitters trade questions, take notes and try to make a connection. To participate in this free event, parents and sitters may register online at www.speedsitting.net. Children are welcome and will be entertained by Radio Disney. Peace a Pizza will cater snacks and Sittercity will distribute gift bags. |
| WHO: | SpeedSitting was invented by Sittercity founder/CEO Genevieve Thiers, who will host the event and offer tips on babysitter interview techniques. Thiers, 28, has logged more than 2,700 babysitting jobs. |
| WHEN: | Saturday, April 29, 2006 11am – 1pm |
| WHERE: | The Saturday Club 117 West Wayne Ave. Wayne, PA 19087 |
| WHY: | With SpeedSitting, parents have the opportunity to meet dozens of quality sitters from the Philadelphia area. Sittercity helps get the process started by pre-selecting all SpeedSitting sitters and requiring them to provide references. All sitters are 17 years or older and many even have special certifications, experience in tutoring and/or studies in childcare-related fields. |
