Professionally I have worked with adult and juvenile SMI recipients for the better part of 20 years. (I now work in Corrections and possess a Level 1 fingerprint clearance card, issued by DPS.) On a personal level, I took care of both my late parents when they were in need of assistance in the home. Both parents had dementia to some degree, as well as my father was legally blind. I helped take them to doctor's appointments, helped them to grocery shop, fix meals, pay bills, and just spent a lot of quality time with them. I enjoy elderly clients.
