I have spent much of the last five years being the sole carer for my mother, who sadly passed last august. I have spent much of the last five years being the sole carer for my mother, who sadly passed last august. She had multiple medical issues, and I assited her to remain at home until the end of her life, including administering medicines and injections.
I was in sole charge of the household, taking care of all financial matters, taking her to medical appointments, acting on her behalf and in her best interests when necessary. I helped her to remain as independent as possible and maintain her dignity through out.
During the final year, I had to assist her with all daily living tasks, including feeding and washing, and also gained funding to allow a full-time carer to live with us to allow mum to remain at home as she had wished.
