     I am a certified special education and science teacher living in Glendale, but am willing to travel.  

I have been tutoring for over 2 years, both in home and after school, and have found it very rewarding.  I love being able to have the one-on-one interaction with my students that was difficult to achieve as a classroom teacher.  I have tutored at the elementary, middle, and high school levels in math and language arts.  I, therefore, enjoy working with all age groups and feel comfortable in all subject areas. 

I am very patient with my students, and, if they don't understand a concept when I explain it one way, I find a different approach.  I often use visual representations, familiar objects, and games to help a student learn a concept or skill.

I am comfortable around dogs.  However, since I am allergic to cats, I would appreciate if any would be kept away from the area where I will be working.  (I don't get any life-threatening reaction to cat dander, but I do become very congested and my eyes become irritated if I am around one for a period of time.)
