I recently just graduated from the University of Maryland with my Master’s degree in the area of Reading Education. I also received my certification to become a Reading Specialist in the state of Maryland. While completing my degree, I learned many strategies and instructional techniques in order to build on and improve specific reading skills. I currently teach 1st grade, but I have also taught 4th grade. I prefer to have the lessons in an individual one-on-one tutoring session, in order to provide the student with individualized instruction to meet their specific needs or areas they need support or enrichment in. Also, I have worked at Sylvan Learning Center assisting students in the areas of Reading, Writing, Math, and providing homework assistance.
