My name is Lauren Kalil and I am a student at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield Connecticut.  I have been tutoring for the past year.  As a student, I am majoring in Media Studies with the hopes to one day become a reporter or an anchor.  At Sacred Heart, I am involved in Student Government as the Class of 2014 President, a member of the competition dance team, the head of the career and personal development team in the sorority, Chi Omega, a member of the national residence hall honorary, a scriber for learning disabled students, and also a CLA (class learning assistant).  The class that I am tutoring for is sports broadcasting.  In this class, there is editing software that I assist the students with when creating their sports packages.  I also assist with questions, studying before exams, and help with their homework.  There is one student that is learning disabled that I spend a lot of outside the classroom time with.  I have been on the dean’s list every semester at Sacred Heart, and since we are a liberal arts school, I have taken a variety of classes. Through student government, we participate in numerous volunteer programs from something as small as visiting nursing homes to play bingo with the residents, to something as large as raising over 700 turkeys for homeless shelters in Bridgeport Connecticut for Thanksgiving. I am very patient and a good listener.  I am an outgoing person and have worked with students with different strengths.
