My name is Nicole Swift.  I am a student at SUNY Geneseo and I am currently studying childhood education/special education, grades 1-6.  I have held a tutoring internship while attending school; I have specialized in the areas of reading and math (very flexible with subject areas that are requested for tutoring).  Furthermore, I am an undergraduate researcher; the focus of my research is on literacy acquistion and application.  Although it will not conflict with tutoring during the summer months, this research continues to be conducted outside of the formal school calender.  I have worked with children in a variety of settings and truly love to teach.  Aside from tutoring experiences, I have worked as a senior camp counselor for 5 years and a one-to-one aid for students on the Autism Spectrum for 2 years.  I am a Special Olympics volunteer and truly try to incorporate my love of sports into teaching.  Teaching is my passion; any and all experiences to work with students, of any age (not simply those ages that fall within my certification area), are valued experiences.
