Hi! My name is Isha and I'm a graduate student at Sarah Lawrence College in New York in Human Genetics. I will be living in Los Angeles over the summer working at Cedars Sinai Medical Center.
During high school, I was very involved in tutoring. I spent summers tutoring middle school and elementary school children one-on-one bringing them up to their grade level. I mostly worked with children in math and reading.
During college at the University of Denver, I tutored 4th grade children in reading and math. After undergrad I decided to go to medical school. During my first two years I worked with students in groups or individually tutoring them in anatomy, physiology, and microbiology. However, once I reached my clinical rotations of medical school, I realized that medicine was not the right path for me and decided to pursue a career in genetic counseling at Sarah Lawrence College.
At Sarah Lawrence I have tutored students individually in embryology and physiology. In the future I hope that I can continue a career in teaching, whether it be in the hospital or in a university.
