My name is Melissa and I graduated Illinois State University with honors and summa cum laude (GPA 3. 9) with a degree in Elementary Education in xxx-xxx-xxxx I taught third grade and have been teaching fifth grade this past school year. I have also obtained my masters degree from National Louis University in Educational Technology. In the past, I have tutored for both elementary and middle school students in reading/language arts and math. Fortunately, as the summer and upcoming school year begins, I will be available for tutoring in my Boardman home or at a local library beginning in July 2011. 

I have the certification to teach from K-9 general education, as well as language arts, social studies and science in the middle school setting, and technology through high school. In addition, I have created engaging curriculum of my own which meet both the district and state standards.

I guarantee that I will offer a well rounded, individualized curriculum that is both enriching and engaging for your child. In addition, I will track your child's progress using the nationally normed assessments in reading fluency, comprehension, and math facts. Monthly progress reports will be provided to you regarding curriculum covered, data collected, and goals for the upcoming month.

My rate of $20-$30 an hour guarantees your child a unique INDIVIDUALIZED one-on-one tutoring session. This will allow me to spend time outside of the tutoring session to plan lessons specific to your child's needs. I have also provided homework help in the past, and will offer this at a lower rate since there will be no outside planning involved.
