I am currently pursuing a doctorate in physical therapy, because it satisfies my desire to teach and support athletes. Collaborating and teaching over the past 7 years has molded my methods of teaching. I believe that scaffolding the content and relevance greatly influence the degree of retention and enjoyment the student has for the subject of math. My goal in tutoring is more than raising the student's grade and understanding, but to help provide a confidence he/she can bring to class. This confidence removes the emotional barrier (affective filter) that typically associates with struggling students and math classes.
