Meet Mercedes

In my sophomore year of high school, I acted at the TA for the elementary Art Teacher. I found great joy in helping the students make beautiful pieces that they could be proud of. During my senior year, I assisted in the Math Counts program where I helped the youth solve math problems. Although math is not my strong suit, I learned that I enjoyed helping kids of all ages in various subjects. I enjoy working with kids. I began babysitting my neighbors two little girls, and I cannot tell you how calming it was to read to them, draw with them, watch movies with them, and just be around them. Kids have so much potential for brilliance and joy. I am blessed if I can be a part of bringing out that potential. As I said, I watched my neighbors daughters in high school. I have a family here Read more in the city whose two little boys I watch on occasion and boy are they energetic! They are such fun to be around though. I work for a church nursery as well, where I watch up to six kids at a time. If you need a creative sitter to watch your energetic kids, I can do it. I will draw and make crafts with them. I will read and play games with them. I shall do my utmost to keep them on track with homework if they are of school age, and off of screens at any age. I hope to hear from you soon.
