Emily is everything we want in a babysitter: dependable, personable, professional, punctual, and, most important, kind and attentive to our daughter, who is now ten months old. Emily always remembers appointments and shows up on time practically every time. (She was less than five minutes late on only two or three occasions in about a six month period of 1-3 assignments a week.) Emily established a good rapport right away with us and with the baby, who is always excited to see her show up. Emily is easy to talk to, but also scrupulously respects my need for quiet time.

I am particularly impressed with how easy it is to communicate to Emily what we need her to do, how reliably she follows instructions, and yet how much independent thought and initiative she shows, both on a regular basis and under unusual circumstances. Here are a couple of examples: (1) Emily takes the baby for trips to interesting places nearby, such as to Boston Common/Garden, which I hadn't thought of and have since found to be entertaining for the baby. (2) On a date night during the winter, our apartment had a false fire alarm. Emily bundled the baby up, left our unit promptly, quickly gathered information about the situation, and calmly called us to let us know what was going on. I was not in the least bit worried about our daughter, knowing she was in Emily's hands.

Emily quickly became our trusted, go-to sitter, and still would be our main sitter, had a professional opportunity not made her less available to us. My wife and I will continue to use her on a limited basis and recommend her as a sitter without reservation.
