I have been babysitting since my Junior year in high school. I started babysitting when my parents decided that money for shopping and movies was not a "necessity" in my allowance budget...obviously, I begged to differ. I had always taken care of children(my younger cousins). I was also always helping out at the church daycare and nursery. So one day as I was helping out in the daycare, I mentioned to one of the parents that I was looking for a job. The mother immediately offered me a job as her children's babysitter. Before I knew it, other parents were hiring me to babysit for them as well. I continued babysitting through senior year of high school. However, once I got to college, I stopped babysitting during freshman year. Coming to Tuskegee University and starting my college career was a drastic change for me. I am a full presidential scholarship Read more student so when I first got Tuskegee University, I was overwhelmed by the work load of college and maintaining my scholarship. The summer after my first year, I worked as a summer camp leader at QuadW Christian Internship in Mobile, AL and i absolutely loved. I had forgotten how much I loved working with children. They joy that they have and the energy that that they had instantly revived the "kid" in me. I left that summer refreshed( and 10 pounds lighter from the running around). Since then, I have been involved with the youth ministry and children daycare at my church. I have been babysitting here and there for some people from, church, and I also volunteered with some after school programs here in Tuskegee.
