Since the day my sister was born 11 years ago, I have absolutely loved being around kids. Whether it was playing Barbies with her or Thomas the Train with my nephew, I always enjoyed our play time just as much as they did. Having a younger siblings, cousins, and nephews have showed me more than just "kids say the darned'st things." Although that reigns true, I've learned how intelligent young children really are and watched them excel in so many different things individually. The same goes for special needs children. My mom is a special education teacher so I was introduced to kids with Autism/Asperger Syndrome, Fragile X, Down Syndrome, etc at the early age of 12. Years down the road we went to the same high school and he won for the most three pointers scored in a half time competition. I think every person at any age deserves the chance to find their individual talent and seek it through. I favor working with kids because I enjoy watching them grow and learning what they know. They never fail to amaze me.
