I am a 22 year old female living in Arkadelphia, AR. The only times I would not be available are Tuesdays & Thursday from 11-1. I am currently taking one of the last 2 classes I need to get my degree in biology with a minor in chemistry. I would love to engage your child in a meaningful, educational way, in addition to your child's favorite activities. I do not have children of my own, but I co-raised both of my younger siblings at an early age. My dad was always working, and was not what you would call an "involved" father, so I helped my mom every step of the way, until I moved to college in 2010. There was a summer, when I was in high school, where my grandpa was in the hospital after a severe motorcycle accident. My mom stayed with him almost constantly, and my Read more dad was always at work. This is when I felt myself "grow up." I learned to manage the entire house, and my sisters (I was probably 15.) This was a real learning experience for me. But now, I am much matured, and would enjoy the experience even more. I hate to see children being passively raised by television and iPads. One thing I can promise you is that I will be an ACTIVE and INVOLVED sitter. Sure, we can watch a movie once in a while, or maybe some educational YouTube videos, but I'm not going to hand your kid an iPad and then do my own thing. I don't want your kid to feel like they are at school when they are with me, rather, I want to be a source of fun and meaningful experiences. I would love to have their "help" with cooking, show them how I make my own natural cleaners and body products, and teach them some fun facts about nature. (I know almost every native tree in AR.) I would love to demonstrate how things like recycling, gardening, and composting can be fun and rewarding too. Really though, your child's experience with me can be whatever they wish it to be. We can do their favorite activities, and I would also like to once in a while mix in some of the above mentioned sciency fun!
