My name is Jazmin Selvy, and I am 22 years old. I’m a Criminology major at Arkansas State University. I’m very involved on campus, but the most involved with Campus Outreach as I have a deep, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. I became a caregiver in 2009 at the age of twelve years old when my grandmother suffered a stroke. I spent each day with her after school tending to her needs and was a full time caregiver in the summer. My duties included cooking meals, bathing/clothing her, making sure she was moving around smoothly, going over speech therapy exercises with her, and helping her to stay in good spirits through it all. This still continues today as I live with my grandmother while I’m not at school. In 2014, I was blessed with a beautiful baby brother and this is how I learned to care for an infant. I Read more was taught to change diapers, bathe/clothe an infant, feed an infant, put an infant to rest among other meaningful things. A babysitting job would be more than a job to me. I genuinely love children and watching them grow. It has easily been my greatest pleasure.
