I have three grown daughters and six grandchildren, and have helped them through everything from a skinned knee to major illnesses. I worked in the health care field for 25+ years, and am CPR certified. I also have common sense, react quickly and calmly in any situation, and have experience that allows me to evaluate and respond correctly to symptoms, whether it be to treat the situation/symptoms myself, or identify when/if the child needs to be seen by a doctor. I am kind, gentle, and patient; however, I know when a child is trying to get away with something simply because I am not the parent. I believe in positive reinforcement as a way to encourage correct behavior, and understand that children respond to and actually need routine and boundaries to feel safe and cared about.
