All my adult life, I have invested energy into caring for children's well-being in a wide variety of ways. As a volunteer, I have tutored inner city youth, led youth groups, and taught children in Sunday school classes. As a marriage and family therapist, I provided play therapy for children who had experienced trauma or a challenging life transition, and taught them how to express their feelings appropriately and problem-solve. I have provided child care in a fitness center--a place where I could care for my own children and work at the same time. I also taught my two daughters at home for 4 years.
