Hi there! My name is Catherine and I am a recent transplant to the valley (September 2013). I moved here from Brooklyn, N.Y. with my husband and daughter, who was born in August 2013. We currently own a home in a gated community in Mesa. We have two pets, a dog (small/medium Dachshund/ Border collie mix) and a cat. I attended Brooklyn College until December 2012. While in high school and college, I worked for 5 families (9 children over 7 years) and have done the odd babysitting night for countless more. I was with my last two families for 3 and 4 years respectively. Experience and skills: I have worked and am comfortable with breastfeeding/formula, disposables/cloth diapers, baby wearing/attachment parenting and I am happy to continue any form of discipline already established with child(ren). I have potty-trained, tutored, and encouraged my charges to express their creativity in any medium; Read more i.e. dance, acting, art, singing, writing and so on. I am not a fan of lots of TV watching (if any) at young ages and prefer to read, play and have outdoor adventures! I am an avid crafter and love, love, love art projects and holiday creations we can work on together. I have cooked meals for vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores alike. I make most all my family’s meals from scratch and enjoy baking. I am not good with sitting idle (while children sleep or are self-entertaining) so I tend to clean. I have cleaned for most all of my previous families. Amenities: If child(ren) are to be watched at my residence. As I mentioned previously, I own my own home in Mesa in a gated community. We have a private playground as well as other green spaces. In my home, we have a huge playroom and a nice sized backyard. I am set up for babies/toddlers with a changing table, two bassinettes (travel and regular), and a crib; older children welcome too! Baby wearing is something I am very comfortable with as I have done and still do it with my daughter; I have a Moby and an ergo.
