Hi there, I am a 54 yr old woman and a grandmother to four wonderful children, ranging in age from 5 to 13. My primary home is in North Dakota but my husband Ardean and I winter in Tonopah, Arizona. During the summer season, I often have my grandchildren come over from Montana and stay with me for 4-6 weeks. We have a ball, i.e. gardening, playing board games, doing art projects, and spending time at the splashdown park. I have worked as a "free family" babysitter many times, and I have been a healthcare provider for 24 years. I also helped my sister for years with her 4 children. More about my background: I am a licensed x-ray tech (since 1991). Since 2003, I have worked 9 yrs as an x-ray tech in Antarctica, caring for patients in a very remote place. I was the only x-ray tech on Read more the continent! I'd love to share some penguin/seal pictures with your children. And, I have some really cool pictures of the South Pole Station too. Additionally, I worked at a hospital in Mobile, AL for 14 yrs. I have taken CPR many times, although I'm up for renewal at this time and will attend another class soon. I have a BA degree in Humanities with a primary specialty in ceramic art. I would love to do some art work with your kids. My grandkids and I made some super neat button pictures this past summer. Currently, my husband and I have an independent trucking business during the spring and summer months. I don't drive a semi, but I take care of the invoices, taxes, and prepare a lot of hot meals. That's another thing I love to do--cook! So, if your child would like to bake some cookies or a cake, that's definitely an option. I live in the Tonopah area and am willing to drive to the Buckeye , Goodyear, and Tolleson areas to care for your child/children. I'd prefer part-time temporary work, i.e. "date nights", mothers' day out, or 2-3 day/wk opportunities. My rates are at the high end because I believe quality childcare is worthy of quality pay. And, I certainly believe that you deserve a nice break from time-to-time!
