Hello! My name is Mirjam and I'm originally from Switzerland. My husband is in the Marine Corps and we are getting stationed in Yuma early January. I've been taking care of kids since I was 12 years old. I love being around kids; they make me happy with their curious, carefree, honest attitude towards live. I was an Aupair for over two years here in the US. ( I didn't actually earn an official "Aupair of the Year" title, it is just what my last family and some close friends would tease and call me)! I lived in Chicago for a year with a family of 3 very active boys. The boys were 2, 4 & 6 years old at the time. After Chicago I moved to beautiful Colorado for about 1.5 years and stayed with an amazing family. I took care of their 4 kids (new born, 1.5, 3 Read more & 4 years old). I'm a very active, outdoorsy person and love to show kids a good time at playgrounds, parks, pool, on hikes. Pick them up from school, help with their home work, cook & bake with them. I like to be their big sister and have fun with them but at the same time set boundaries and let the kids know right from wrong, just be a good role model. With my past two families, I was encouraged to teach and speak certain phrases and words from my native language, Swiss German, to the children, and I would be happy to continue this tradition with your children if you so wish. I grew up in a very nice town in Central Switzerland, called Lucerne! My parents and 3 brothers all still live there. We are a very close family and my parents were great life teachers and raised me very well! I'm a professional baker/confectioner and worked in several different bakeries all over Switzerland for 9 years. For the past two years, I was a flight attendant for SWISS International Airlines and got to see so many beautiful, impressing places all over the world. I'm open to any age group and number of children - newborn to early teens. I can be flexible with my schedule.
