With my mother being a child development professor and special needs pathologist, I was brought up in an environment that was nurturing and understanding of the different stages of childhood. Ever since I can remember, I would go to home visits with my mother who would be working with children who have sever special needs and would assist her any way I could. Including taking care of my younger sisters and other family relatives. I have always enjoyed working with children and have patience for them as well. I think the patience comes from understanding where the children are coming from and knowing the stage of life they are in. Although I just graduated with a bachelors degree in Dietetics (nutrition), I took many child development courses and studies abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark for a year studying nothing other than child development. While abroad and before I interned at a Read more day care and preschool, for a total of 2 years. In addition, my past job was called Center for Healthy Communities, here I promoted healthy living though good nutrition, exercise and positive thinking. I worked here for three years. Though out this job I worked with all age groups, from children to older adults. Since I worked there for so long I was responsible and would supervise the events we would coordinate. To give you an idea, the last event I coordinated was a three week series of nutrition education, physical activity and cooking with the children grades 4-8th. I am now in a transition state of moving to Ohio for grad school and decided babysitting would be a fun and good way to earn a bit of extra cash before I leave.
