Arlene has been watching our daughter several times a month for about 9 months now. She's very kind and trustworthy, and our daughter gets excited when we tell her that Arlene is coming over to take care of her. This is our only child, so it wasn't easy for us to get comfortable with the idea of leaving her with a stranger. We feel incredibly blessed to have found Arlene. It's a great comfort to know we're leaving our daughter in such good hands. They don't sit around and watch a lot of television. Most of the time, I come home to find them playing, either outside or in our daughter's room. Arlene is punctual and responsible and, most importantly, she seems to genuinely care, and that means the world to us.

I hired Arlene as a date night sitter. She met my kids ahead of time and brought her certifications to go over. She gave me her references as well. Arlene answered all my questions not only about her qualifications but about Sittercity as well. On our date my kids had a great time. My kids went to bed happily and did not cry at all. The next day they couldn't stop talking about how much fun they had. I was worried that there would be a struggle because my kids were nervous about having a babysitter. i got home and found out she even arranged my kids pillows and washed a couple stray dishes. i was very happy with our experience.

Arlene, Thanks for taking care of my child the other day while I went on a much needed date with my husband. I haven't gone on a date in a long time because It's hard for me to trust anyone, especially if I don't know them. You were very responsible and not to mention very sweet with my little girl. After you left she kept asking about you. I made a great decision when I chose you ! We'll definitely be calling you again. Thank-you!

I hired Arlene back in the beginning of June when school was let out. From June up until 7/21 everything was going great! She was a great sitter, got along with my daughter, took her out, etc. However on Monday 7/24 I received a text from Arlene stating that she was sorry and was unable to make it that day. Which was ok because from the start she has never called out. I texted back saying that, that was fine and to please let me know if she was able to make it tomorrow (7/25). No response. I texted again, no response. I texted this morning. About an hr later I finally got a response. She thanked me for the opportunity but wanted to let me know that she will no longer be coming by. That’s it. No explanation or nothing! I responded telling her I understand if it is a family emergency but I would appreciate her telling me why she is quitting and especially on such a short notice. I thought everything was going great. No issues between her and my daughter nor her and I. I paid her on time, I always came home on time and nothing was ever said. I tried calling but of course she is hiding behind her phone and didn’t answer. If I had to quit my job on short notice due to a VERY good reason I would at least have the balls to CALL my boss and give a VERY good explanation as to why. Like I said she WAS a good sitter but this just ruined everything I thought about her! Also what makes me very upset is that TODAY the day that she quite is also the day that she most recently logged into her Sittercity profile. Are you looking for another job? If so that’s fine but at least have the decency to tell me why instead of being a coward. Not only did she disappoint me but she greatly disappointed my daughter which IS MESSED UP!
