DISCLAIMER Available only for after school tutoring and daytime caretaking! Currently working full-time in the afternoons as a private tutor. Hi there! Being a part of a child's life is a huge commitment and responsibility. They are constantly looking to adults for guidance and knowledge of the world, which is why I take my interactions with kids seriously. Since I want kids to be happy, positive, compassionate, confident and self-reliant, I project these attitudes consistently. I have worked as a teacher in South Korea with elementary aged students for two years. I absolutely loved my time with my students, and I learned so much about them and about how to be with them. I have always been conscious of others needs and emotions, endeavoring to help others at any time. While working with the kids, aged 3 to 13, I learned how they learn, and how they react to different Read more events and the actions of others. I still keep in touch with some of my students and their parents. Since I've been back in the US, I have been tutoring elementary to high school-aged children privately, using what I've learned to help each student achieve their best. I strive to identify how they learn and what they need. I also focus on what makes them happy, what will build their character, and show them how to begin their independent road to adulthood. I hope to be a role model for the kind of person they want to be and what they want to give to the world. In the future I will become a pediatric nurse practitioner, with a focus on international health and wellness. My university degree was in Archaeology and Arabic language in Scotland. An odd mix, I know. My ideal had always been to work with other nations and people, creating a better world through preservation of history and creating better intercultural understanding. I realized along the way that my real love was to be more proactive, working directly with people and having a real, tangible, positive effect. That is why teaching and health are my main focuses now. Now, I am still teaching as a private tutor in the San Gabriel Valley. I would love to spend more time with children and helping families as a nanny. I do not currently hold First Aid or PALS _YET_, but it is a current priority. Location is not a major determinant in helping a family. I have a car and an open schedule. Ideally, I am looking to be a full-time presence, even for a fixed term. Please feel free to write or call!
