I'm a college student majoring in Child Development working on my bachelors degree. I hope to become a kindergarten teacher and also work with children of special needs. Thanks to one of my college professors I had the opportunity to work at her Head Start Center as well as the Bakersfield College Day Care Center and assist the teachers with guiding group activities and helping create a curriculum that would work best for the class room. I also had the opportunity to work along side children of special needs at Palla Elemetary where I shadowed the teacher and eventually was given the chance to lead the class room and have one-on-one growth and development studies with the children. Now I spend most of my time baby-sitting children of close friends and family members and help pick them up from school, feed them, help with homework, and spend time playing games. Read more The parents I work with admire my work ethic and know that the safety and well being of their children always comes first for me. Something that also drew me to babysit and work along side children was being able to learn something new about them everyday and being able to communicate that with the parents, and seeing them grow into their unique personality brings me joy. As a baby sitter I also realize that I'm able to guide them in the right direction and help them choose from right and wrong and also allow them to freely express themselves. All of this makes me love my job and love spending time with children!
