As the oldest of three siblings living at home, I have been taking care of children since a very young age. I helped care for the younger children in Sunday School. In middle school, I took an official babysitting course, and have been taking care of children ever since. In the summer after my junior year of college, I worked at a summer camp and was trained as a lifeguard including an official first aid certification. I have been helping take care of my sisters' children ages 9, 7, and 5 since they were babies. From June to November 2012, I was a live-in tutor, nanny and family assistant for 3 children during the family's transition from Idaho to Oakland, CA. From November 2012 to August 2013, I was a live-in family assistant and nanny for a four year old. Most currently, I have worked for a non-profit in the Read more after-school program in the kindergarten and first grade classroom. As a part of this position, I passed a criminal background check and had informal first aid training, including CPR. I am looking for employment working with kids for the summer, before I begin my job with Americorps working in a Bay Area elementary school. After that I would like to get my teaching credential for either elementary education or middle school math.
