Are you looking for someone to take your children on adventures or play games with them? Do they want to learn about sports, or have active imaginations? Or perhaps they need help learning to read or making crafts or a fort? Although I don't have children of my own, I started caring for children 25 years ago. I worked in the PT/OT Department of a California State Institution, and learned to treat profoundly physically challenged and developmentally delayed individuals. My specialty is caring for people (of any age) with special needs, and multiples. I cared for an autistic spectrum girl on the weekends for 10 years, and she looked forward to my arrival every week. I planned activities and induced her to exercise, while focusing on mainstream social behavior. I have also successfully cared for two sets of twins and their older siblings (like triplets). My job history is diverse, Read more and includes teaching and coaching swimming. I have taught children to swim, dive and to be comfortable in lakes, the ocean and in swimming pools. My hobbies include crafts, basic construction/home repair, sports, and spending time out of doors. My formal education includes a MS degree in health and safety engineering, a BS degree in Community Health Education; and I am proficient in mental arithmetic. My employers and friends describe me as responsible, energetic and easy to get along with. I also love all pets -- insects, lizards, snakes, small mammals, rodents, in addition to cats and dogs, and do not have any phobias. I am flexible and easy going while exercising vigilance. My goal is to minimize your childrens' anxiety and to maximize your confidence that everything is well while you are away. We will have a great time engaged in the childrens' interests while following all of your rules: nutrition, behavior, bedtime, electronics, homework, and interaction with pets. When your children are safely asleep, I will clean up any dishes and tidy up any toys or materials we have used. I have a safe, reliable car, a clean driving record and am certified in CPR and 1st aid. My judgment is excellent and you will not encounter a more reliable, responsible child care provider. Your children will like me and you will enjoy our time together.
