I have 40 plus years helping , playing with, teaching, learning from and caring about children and babies of all ages . I am a mother, a grandmother, a former pre-school teacher and current child care provider. When I retired from the corporate business world five years ago, I was approached by a family who needed some help with their young son. I did not anticipate that saying "yes" to that would start me on a path of meeting many wonderful families and caring for multiple children . I have a BA and MA in Psychology and very often I end up working with emotional, developmental and behavioral issues in a supportive way . This happens naturally as I get to know a child and family. As a woman and mother I have great respect for the role of a parent . I see that in our current society, the Read more role of mother has unique challenges and benefits from support and understanding . There used to be extended family and grandparents to help - but I have found that most of the families I have met don't have this . So that is what I bring. When a mother feels supported the whole family benefits. I think kids need to be physically active, emotionally supported, given clear guidelines , able to spend time in Nature and have plenty of tine to play and be creatuve . They have joy and enthusiasm and those qualities are of great value! I am in strong support of children's childhood being valued and protected. I love to see kids happy and feeling good. I do what I can to help if this is not the case. I also like to read with kids and have been helping my own grandsons (ages 15 and 12) with homework and projects for many years - from first grade to high school. I look forward to meeting new families!
