Most of my experience comes from being a respite care taker to my autistic little brother. He’s 10, so I’ve been there to nanny & physically take care of him since he was diagnosed at 2. This included driving to and from school , babysitting after school hours, taking him and other children out on outings to get them to socialize more and learning side by side with his personal behavioritsts. Also with preparing food , play time, doing laundry and maintaining a schedule. It’s been beyond difficult as he’s gotten older, but it opened up a route for me to take, along the lines of being as helpful as I can to other families as well.
