I am a junior at Simpson University and currently on summer break. I am majoring in Liberal Studies with aspirations of becoming an elementary school teacher. Recently, I spent three weeks in El Salvador on an internship for establishing an after school program for at risk youth. I have approximately five years’ experience working with children that began when I was in high school, working at the Lil Mav’s daycare for the Regional Occupation Program for two years. During this time I also volunteered at my church’s Sunday school class working with the three year olds class. I also have a young nephew who I have had the pleasure to watch and care for many times.
