I love being a caregiver because it ties into my family values. Family is what I value most in my life and caring for them is one other aspect of maintaining love and growth in my family. Growing up in an African home, with two younger siblings , six younger cousins and most of all being the oldest amongst them, I had to learn how to coach and clean after them. I have to admit, I felt overwhelmed with the responsibility to look after them but with time and the love I had for my cousins and siblings, it became easier and enjoyable. Being the first born and the oldest amongst all the kids in my family, I had to be a responsible young adult, from helping them do their homework to changing diapers, cleaning the floor, washing their clothes and taking them out for a walk. So having this Read more job , will be another joyful experience for me because I want to be a nurse in the future and also someday have my own family. So caring for someone else will help me in becoming a future nurse and mom. I grew up with a single mother and I had to see how much work and effort she had to put towards her job so that she can be able to pay the bills and keep a roof over my head. While my mom is at work, I made sure the house is well kept and clean before she comes home thus, making her stressful day less stressful. I know they are a lot of mothers out there who work non stop so that they can provide for their children. Babysitting for the mothers will their accomplish this goals. I value my family so much and because of that, I will be responsible in caring for another individual because they are family to some other person.
