Note-State of California did a thorough background check by the Dept. of Justice. * I received a home care aide license Oct.2,2020. I have loved children since I was a child. At age 5, my best friend's mother was a nurse. I admired & loved her mother & wanted to be a nurse too. Time to choose college courses, I decided to #1 take RN program & made #2 natural resources. I do love the out of doors & had hobbies such as several types of skiing, fishing,& was lucky to have an older neighbor with his life immersed in horses & horse packing in the mountains. I believe much in honoring our parents. After 20 yrs working in various areas of nursing, especially in the hospital, I took intensive care of 1st my Father, until his precious life passed. My Mother then needed alot of care also. Their care Read more overlapped for about 2 yrs. My Mother's care was close to 8 yrs. Their combined time that I assisted them was 18 yrs continuously. They were in & out of nursing homes & hospitals and their health & prosperity exceeded all expectations when they were at home under my direction, & not the institutions'. I was able to give my parents intensive care with the help of a physically strong caregiver for heavier duties. I prefer dogs & do enjoy some cats, & like other pets. I enjoy being playful with kids, teaching, & reading with them. I just completed an elderly companion job helping an 86yo woman with moderate dementia in her home. I drove her to many medical appointments, including tests, meeting with Drs, appointments by phone and guided healthier choices of foods at the store, and prepared meals. Light house cleaning, lots of help with errands, companionship, taking medicines/ vitamins, encouraged exercises, took walks and so on. This job lasted one year, until she was locked up in a memory care facility.
