Recently relocated from California and before that, New York, I am living in Portland, working part time in the education field. I am currently developing an educational musical web series (with puppets)! In California, I was a math tutor and after school musical theater instructor, while also babysitting regularly. In New York, I was a full time educator at the Queens Zoo. I love bringing creativity and fun to kids of all ages, from teaching them how to make music videos, playing in the park and creating imaginative stories together, or simply using household items to create fun and imaginative play spaces. Alex has set the bar for all our future sitters -- w/o fail punctual and reliable, a memory for details and schedule changes much better than mine, and most important -- she has a true rapport w/ kids. She took my child's interest in My Little Pony and turned it into an illustrated collaborative chapter book w/ at least 100 pp., a "Ponopoly" board game, dozens of sewing projects (including a ladybug costume for school play James and the Giant Peach), video stories w/ stuffies using my child's interest in greek gods and goddesses, a dog sized cardboard house w/ real cloth curtains and grey tissue paper smoke coming out of the chimney. Unfortunately Alex had to leave us for other adventures, but still keeps in touch w/ us. You will not be sorry if you hire her. We miss you, Alex!
