I first began working with children as a Summer Camp Counselor at a local kids club during my undergraduate experience at UC Davis. The children were unpredictable yet spontaneous, and they challenged me as I tried facilitating play throughout the day. However, I became a more natural caretaker and teacher once I established those positive relationships with the children. I also cared for a 7-year-old boy and his 3-year-old sister. Both siblings were energetic and incredibly social beings as they would invite other to play at the park or would ask me to schedule playdates with friends. One of the most cherishing experiences during my time at UC Davis was interning as a Student Caregiver at the UC Davis lab preschool. I aided the classroom Lead/Master Teacher in engaging children in play and structured activities while primarily focusing on the development of the whole child. I also recently worked as Read more a Behavior Therapist upon graduating UC Davis and helped children progress in their behavioral and emotional regulation. I provided center-based ABA therapy as well as home-based and school services. I most recently completed a semester of child development courses at Fresno City College to broaden my knowledge in the field and learn more about teaching children in the early childhood setting. I seek to become a child care professional through more teaching and caregiving experience and eventually advance into directing and implementing creative, developmentally appropriate curriculums at a child care center/facility or early childhood education program.
